Like his Captain Ricky Ponting. Phillip Hughes was 18 years old when he made his Sheffield Debut and 20 years old when called up to play for his country in the Australian team.
Against South Africa, Phillip Hughes created history when he became the youngest ever cricketer to score two centuries in a single test. Don Bradman, Australia's cricket legend was just 20 years and 124 days old when he scored his maiden century. Surpassing the achievements of Bradman, Phillip Hughes was 26 days younger than Bradman when he scored not one, but two test centuries.
This is not the only record he has claimed from Bradman. As a young Sheffield player he surpassed Bradman's record for the greatest percentage of any team's runs in the history of the Sheffield team.
